This update is being written on the 6th April 2022, which is the first day of the new tax year. The figures in the above table are taken after the close on the last day of the 2021-2022 tax year.
Two updates from last time - first of all LM048 was closed off due to the underlying commodity (Soybean) closing at the lowest low for 20 days. A small profit of £84.38 was made over the two months that the trade was open.
The new position (LM050) is another ETC opened at the end of March and, as you can see, it has benefited from a nice bump in the few days since it was purchased.

And so we come to the figures for the LM portfolio. The final value as of closing on the 5th April 2022 is... [cue X Factor-style pause for dramatic effect]...
£26,403.04
This represents a 3.75% increase on the year. Unfortunately it's well short of the 18% needed but at least it is positive.
The graph below shows the progress since the LISA Millionaire experiment started:
There is still a £1,000 bonus to be added so realistically the portfolio is at around £27.4k but the growth target was to be at £37.5k at this point. Fair to say we are well behind.
It doesn't help that the fund is mostly in cash because of the jitters in the stockmarket. My hope is that eventually the weakness is shaken out and then I can pile in and ride the wave upwards.
Even if it takes years to catch up I don't mind. Expecting a stable 18% per year growth was never realistic. However, I don't think it is out of the realms of possibility that we get 4% one year then 25% the next and so on.
There are many years remaining for the LISA Millionaire experiment. No need to panic just yet.
