Here's a random Wednesday update because, well, why not?
I'm writing this out at 10am because I am still 'inbetween contracts' (unemployed) and looking for anything I can fixate on to distract me from my to-do list.
Clear garden... arrange for scrap man to collect some old garden furniture... sell old bike... try to fix exterior lights... go to tip... no thanks.
So what better than a new update to evade some chores for half a hour.
Portfolio's still looking good.
The table above shows the position as of close of play last Friday. I added a new unit to LM058 yesterday which takes me to pretty much 100% invested.
I had to deposit £100 to the LISA in order to be able to add this new unit so at some point I'll get a shiny £25 bonus. Quite amusing that the only money I've added in the last three tax years comes when I can least afford it. But the market's doing well so this is the best time to invest.
On logging on to my broker account this morning I saw that the value of my LISA is at an all-time high again. This shouldn't come at too much of a surprise as the FTSE 100 closed at a new all-time high of 8,023.87 on Monday (22nd April) and then again on Tuesday (23rd April, 8,044.81). We are still a long, long way from the FTSE 250 breaching its previous high (24,250.80 on 1st September 2021) so let's hope we can get up there this year as that should translate to a bumper return for the LISAMillionaire experiment.
There are 12 shares in the LM portfolio and 7 of those are currently ex-dividend meaning that in the near future the available balance will be plumped up by some very welcome cash.
Only one of these 12 shares appears on the new 52-week highs table this morning and I'm expecting that's because the others are going to surge soon so they can join it.
We should all bask in these very welcome gains and be positive that more are coming. Long may this record-breaking streak continue!
