The money finally landed in the account and the listing disappeared from my open positions so I feel it's safe to talk about my first takeover.
It was LM074 and the share was "DX plc".
I purchased this share initially in January 2023 and then it turned around and started dropping so I sold it at the beginning of June 2023 for a £234.06 loss.
However, the share bounced back quickly and I went back in, purchasing it again in July.
As you can see from the chart below, the price then moved up nicely to eventually finish at the agreed takeover price which I believe was 48.5p. Profit on the second trade ended up as £584.75 therefore the total profit on my DX dalliances was £350.69..
The arrows show the buy (blue) and sell (red) points.
The first trade was closed at the very bottom - naturally - but it all worked out in the end.
No new positions this week but the portfolio did hit an all-time high on Friday so I am very happy with the progress.
There is enough spare cash in the account to allow the purchase of around 5 units and, as the stockmarket is doing quite well at the moment, I will be looking to invest this if decent opportunities come along.
