There should have been a nice fresh update last week but your author didn't manage to get a screenshot of his broker account.

Probably wouldn't have been a very bright update anyway, as the markets have been diving again. New low after new low. The FTSE 250 is very close to 17,000, down 11% or so on the year and at a 52 week low on Friday.

The FTSE 100 hasn't set the world on fire either.

It's at 7,400 which is around 2% down on the year.

As a result of this continuing market slump there have been some changes to the portfolio since the last update. Some ins and outs as below:

In

More pyramiding in the form of an extra unit added to LM061.

Out

Kicked LM066 and LM068 out due to poor performance. The shares were Coca Cola HBC AG (CCH) and Bodycote PLC (BOY). Small-ish losses taken on each. Good riddance. Enough said.

Last year, specifically in October 2022, the 250 hit a low of 16,600. The trend is certainly down so it would not surprise me to see this level again... and perhaps even lower.

Let's shake out all the weak holders - which will probably be me if we see further falls in the shares I hold - and get back to winning ways. Back to market strength. Back to the market going up.

This, after all, is how we all get rich.

Look back to the beginning of the century and you will see that the markets went down, and down, and down for months until the very bottom in March 2003. Of course there were some large up moves but it was a full THREE YEARS of a downward trend.

How long has the market been dropping this time? Is it three years yet? History tells us this can happen and there's nothing to say it couldn't continue dropping for even longer.

Time will tell.
