Couple of changes in the month or so since the last update.

Addition - an ETC (LM070) which fell as soon as I added it to the portfolio, naturally.

Removal - I sold LM064 which was Unilever (ULVR) as it wasn't doing very well and the price had fallen below the 200 day SMA, staying there ever since. It means another loss - of £150.45 - and the 7th losing trade in a row.

The law of averages surely means I am going to see some winners soon... that's how it works, isn't it?

Whilst my LISA portfolio value may have been doing little more than treading water for the last FIFTEEN months, my betting system imaginatively named "System 1" is doing very well.

In fact, Saturday 8th July saw an all-time profit record of over £500 in one day. When you consider that the maximum bet size is £2 each way it's very, very good going.

And all completely automated.

I'm sure I've mentioned that before and I will mention it again. There's little more satisfying than opening some software at 10am then coming back to close if off at 9pm and seeing it has made several hundred pounds TAX FREE.

It's hard to convey the pure unadulterated happiness that comes from getting one over on a bookmaker. It's a mathematical certainty that as long as I can put the bets on I will take money from the bookmakers' pockets.

It really doesn't get much better than that.

Over the years I've had some fantastic betting moments.

Probably my favourite was the 2012 UEFA Champions League final. Chelsea were playing Bayern and since the match was at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Bayern's home ground, there was a clear favourite.

Back then, bookmakers like Paddy Power would have decent offers on for a big event like this - not any more, of course - but in 2012 it wasn't unusual to have some excellent profit potential by taking advantage of betting offers.

This one was a cracker and Paddy obviously thought it was a safe one.

The offer was something like "Money back up to £100 on losing first goalscorer bets if Chelsea lift the trophy".

With Bayern playing at home they were massive favourites to win and few people figured Chelsea would triumph so for Paddy it was a pretty safe offer to make.

Taking advantage of an offer like this is easy; back a player to be first goalscorer for £100 at Paddy Power then lay the same result at Betfair aiming to take, at most, a small 'qualifying' loss. Then you hope that (a) your player doesn't score first and (b) Chelsea win the Champions League.

Should that happen you lose your £100 at Paddy Power but win around the same amount at Betfair. Then Paddy Power refund your £100 so you are about £100 up.

Before the match I actually found a good arb where the price for the first goalscorer (Robben if I remember correctly) ended up being higher than the lay price at Betfair. Therefore whatever happened in the match, I would make at least £1 on my £100.

Come the 83rd minute I resigned myself to accepting a tiny profit when Bayern scored to make it 1-0.

However, 5 minutes later Drogba popped up to equalise. This was a sweet moment that I remember well. I'm no Chelsea fan but I was grinning from ear to ear thinking about my potential profit.

So the match finished normal time at 1-1 and extra time didn't produce any further goals so penalties would decide it.

Following 9 efforts it was 3-3 and Chelsea would win it if they scored the 10th penalty.

And wouldn't you know it, the man walking up to the take the kick was Didier Drogba. At this point I probably would've staked my entire net worth on that man scoring.

And he did.

He smashed it into the back of the net and smashed the odds.

Chelsea win, I get my refund from Paddy and end the match with a profit of around £101.

It was nowhere near my largest single win but it was so satisfying. Seeing an English club pretty much steal the trophy from a German club in their own ground and then outwitting the bookmaker to take money from them as well.

Brilliant.
