How kind of First Direct:
"With things feeling a bit tighter, you might need some extra flexibility for your borrowing. That’s why we’re giving you the option to take an additional loan to give your budget some extra breathing space and keep your plans on track."
Are you struggling at the moment? Too much month at the end of the money? Utility bills hammering your wallet?
Then why not get a MASSIVE LOAN? Buy yourself some nice stuff and worry about paying us back later, you deserve it!
Let's face it you obviously can't budget properly at the moment so surely the best thing to do is add yet another monthly payment to your perilous financial situation.
Ridiculous.
Usually I don't see this type of stuff in my inbox as for years now I've implemented a series of filters. Every time I get an email that I want to receive, but don't want to see in my inbox, I add the email address (or at least the domain of the sender) to a filter which spirits the incoming emails away into sub-folder "Promos".
That way they don't clog up my inbox but I still can check the Promos folder regularly to see if I've received any emails that need my attention.
Spoiler Alert: I rarely get anything worth bothering with.
If I find I'm getting a lot of emails from one particular company and I don't need them anymore then I'll unsubcribe but everything else can wait in the Promos folder.
Gymetc was gone this week.
They regularly send me emails offering various promotions because several years ago I was a member. Nowadays I hone my god-like physique in my garage so I don't need a membership, plus I moved so I'm no longer round the corner from one of their gyms.
Unsubscribe.
Yes, I'm sure.
"You have been successfully unsubscribed"
Lovely.
Here's another company that won't give up - Netflix...
"Enjoy Netflix again... Choose from plans starting at only £4.99..."
Interesting, £4.99 is less than I've ever paid for Netflix.
Click, click, click
"Choose the plan"
"Basic with adverts, £4.99"
"Standard, £10.99"
Adverts? On Netflix? Things must be desperate if they're going down that route.
I'll just stick to my usual method: sign up for a month, cancel the next day so I don't forget and proceed to hammer all the stuff they've added since I was last a member.
Right, 0924 time to check the LM portfolio.
Click, click, click
All looking OK, no profit warnings, no huge slumps in value.
7 positions currently up an unremarkable 1.83%.
Logout, I'll check again tomorrow.
Back to work.
