LM049, which was another Copper play, was closed towards the end of April. The price didn't really go anywhere in the 6 or so weeks I held the ETC (COPA) and then dropped to its 20 day lowest low.
This gave a small loss of almost £120.
Other commodity positions are doing far better as can be seen from this week's table (above). These have lost a bit of value since last Friday - as has most of the market, Bitcoin is being hammered - but they are still in a decent position.
I'm not getting too excited as these types of instruments can drop quickly and any paper profit could disappear.
In 2020 I did well out of Palladium and then sold all my shares of the ETC one morning following a signal given the previous day. Shortly after I clicked the "deal" button, the price of Palladium dropped 20%. And I do mean "shortly" after, the fall came later the same day.
(You can read more about that position on this update: LISAMillionaire.com Update Sunday 15th March 2020)
There have not been any signals to sell just yet so I am sitting on both LM047 and LM050 and doing the weekly checks. When those checks tell me it's time to go, I'll sell without hesitation.
The Lifetime ISA bonus for 2021/2022 dropped in to my account last week and took the portfolio to a new all-time high. As there are still another 17 years before I can withdraw any of it, I will use that time to grow it as best I can.
The portfolio currently consists of just 3 investments, using a total of 5 units.
Available in cash is the equivalent of about 16 units.
This means that when the market does turn and the signal is given to start buying again, it will be possible to load up on positions and ride that upwards momentum.
Make no mistake, no matter how bearish the markets may seem at one point, it will change. At some time in the future the stock markets will fly upwards and go further and faster than anyone ever imagined.
