Yesterday I went for my "booster" vaccine. I sincerely hope that's the last one or this could turn even more farcical as time goes on. That's three vaccine shots I've had in less than a year... THREE!
Whatever other complaints I may have - don't get me started - the whole vaccination operation was very efficient. I went in 20 minutes early and must've been queuing for about 5 minutes tops. Then the nurse gave me the shot before I'd had chance to realise she had a needle in her hand. But for the slight pin prick felt in my arm if I were a conspiracy crackpot I might even have thought that there was no injection, considering how rapid it was.
Still, that's done for now and hopefully the system will reflect that I have now done my bit - AGAIN - for humanity and the GP will stop sending me daily texts reminding me to book an appointment.
The LM Portfolio
In the table above you can see that all the positions bar LM045 are currently in profit. However, two have been closed this morning following the Saturday morning checks that I like to perform each week.
These checks take about 15 minutes and I have a spreadsheet that I fill in to give me an indication of what kind of condition each share is in.
First closure was the oldest position in the portfolio; three units of a FTSE 250 ETF with the code LM026.
I was perhaps a little late in closing this as it had been under the 200 day SMA all last week but I got out with a decent price this morning and profit of £271.72. Pretty small in the grand scheme of things but this was never going to double overnight and is a trade I learned from the trading guru I have been listening to for the past 17 years. Maybe one day I will talk about him, we'll see.
Next up I sold LM034 which was a single unit in Sainsburys (SBRY). A few months ago this spiked with rumours of a takeover but the rumours quickly faded and last week it dropped down below the 200 day SMA - possibly because it went ex-dividend. Whatever the reason, it was almost given another unit around the time of the spike but luckily I never pulled the trigger. I saw the price dropped below that magical simple moving average so the position was dropped. Simple.
As always you can see all the trades I have done so far in this experiment on the "Completed Trades" page - https://www.LISAMillionaire.com/CompletedTrades.php
Going forward it is a little worrying to see the FTSE 250 underneath its 50, 100 and 200 day SMAs. According to my rules I will not be able to buy any shares now until it's back over the 200 day SMA.
That's a shame because I have over a third of the fund in cash at present - plenty of money to pile in to potential investments.
What happened to the "Santa Rally" this year?
Here's wishing you the very best over the festive period, LM will return with an end of year update around New Year's Eve.
