One out, two in

It came time to sell Royal Mail (RMG, LM032) as the share price had been steadily declining and then spent 3 days below its 200 day simple moving average.

Since I sold on 27/09/2021 the price has continued to fall and some of this has been attributed to UBS rating the share a "sell".

Now I have a couple of questions - what makes UBS the god of all stock market investment? How come they decide it's a sell?

Second, who on earth takes any notice of their recommendations?

After all, this is just one company and one opinion. Unfortunately their recommendation came just before another sharp fall in Royal Mail's share price so someone, somewhere might be listening to them.

Which is pretty pathetic when you think about it.

Not that it matters to me. I sold and banked my profit. Not as much profit as I may have liked but a good profit all the same.

With the funds that were released on dumping RMG I opened two new positions - LM043 and LM044. One is an ETC and another is a UK share that made a new 52 week high recently.

The UK market as a whole has drifted down a little recently and so the LM portfolio has also drifted down in value. Not unexpected considering the vast majority of the positions are UK shares.
