LM029 and LM031 were closed on Wednesday 16th June as LM031 had fallen again in early morning trading.
This position was a purchase of Antofagasta (ANTO) shares and I had been checking this share price more than usual (daily rather than weekly) as it had been dropping day after day.
It was after I had checked the price of the commodity behind LM029 (Copper) that I decided to close both.
On the Tuesday of that week, Copper had closed at the lowest low for 20 days. A great deal of ANTO's business appears to be in Copper mining and so its price can suffer if Copper falls in price.
I alluded to this in a prior update when I mentioned that it probably wasn't a good idea to pyramid LM029 or LM031 as they were somewhat correlated. In short, by having a unit in each I'd already invested the max in Copper or Copper-related shares.
It's a little annoying to see these positions fall back just before I closed them off but I can't complain too much as I got a reasonable return from both.
Now the spare funds available in the LM account will allow further investments into perhaps 3 new positions or some pyramid trades.
Other random tidbits
There's a new member of our household after the baby arrived last week. We're a little short on sleep but it isn't too bad at all. The Junior ISA will be opened ASAP!
Although I try not to watch any adverts at any time, when I have seen any recently it is ridiculous to see small print on them explaining that the advert was "filmed prior to Covid restrictions" or "filmed according to social distancing guidelines".
Who cares?
Seriously, who on earth would even consider whether an advert showing people without masks was filmed before or after March 2020?
Does the existence of these disclaimers mean that there are people out there who would complain if they weren't there?
I despair.
There are things that matter in life and things which do not matter whatsoever. The subject of whether an advert was filmed in accordance with COVID rules or not falls into the latter category.
