As you may have noticed there was no weekend update. That's because we were allowed out to play!
Yes, England's back open again. We can go inside buildings and drink beer or eat food. It's quite a novelty.
So this weekend your webmaster was away enjoying a lovely hotel somewhere nice. It was well deserved and, aside from the jacuzzi not working, very relaxing.
Roll on the 21st June when hopefully we can cast off the face masks. Boy did that get boring very quickly.
You will see LM027 in the table above because that table is listing the positions in the portfolio as at the end of play last Friday. However, it was sold yesterday as the underlying asset (Palladium) closed at a 20 day low.
The trade eeked out a small profit so there's no real complaint here. It also frees up some money for new investments.
Last week saw some huge falls in the crypto markets. Bitcoin fell dramatically. Others fell even further - 25% or more lost in a day. You don't get that on regulated markets...
Is this the end of Bitcoin et al? Who knows.
As always it's important to limit your risk on any one investment. By all means take a chance on crypto but don't put everything you have into it. At some point the whole crypto market will collapse so if you only invest 5%, you can only lose 5%.
Personally I hope it carries on for a while. My thinking is that whilst everyone is concentrating on Bitcoin, the stock market is being ignored.
