Have you ever noticed that everyone is an idiot when you're in a rush?

It was something I pondered one morning as I sat behind someone who was selfishly driving at the speed limit. I was getting mad because this "idiot" was holding me up and therefore making me late dropping off my daughter at school.

The truth of the matter was that it was purely my fault, I hadn't set off early enough. In fact, had I set off 15 minutes earlier and ended up driving behind someone doing the speed limit, it wouldn't have bothered me at all.

No, the problem was with my poor planning and certainly not with the other vehicles I was sharing the road with.

Lesson learnt - always set off a little earlier than required. It helps to reduce the stress levels and the number of bad words I say under my breath on the drive to school.

I felt similar feelings when the market dropped like a stone at the onset of the Coronavirus crisis. As we saw the FTSE 100 drop nearly 11% in a day, all I could think is "why are these idiots making such a fuss over the flu?"

All those "idiot sellers" had absolutely no regard for my lovely investment gains. Just prior to the falls my portfolio had a positive 18% figure under the total gain column.

Of course the sellers weren't idiots and no one person could be blamed for the market tanking.

Markets go down, go up and go sideways. As an investor I need to take as much advantage as possible when they are going up and then preserve my bankroll to the best of my ability when they are going sideways or falling.

There's no point blaming anyone else when I lose money in the market as I certainly won't give credit to others when I make money.

The LISA Millionaire Fund

Another good week for the LM fund. No new positions but now we are sat with just one position at a loss.

Unfortunately I've no spare funds for new investments and this losing position hasn't given a sell signal yet.

Selling it would release some cash to invest elsewhere but I can't bring myself to close the trade unless I see a fundamental change in its price action. For all I know it is resting a while before it shoots up - holding back to build up momentum for a large upwards surge.

With any luck I'll be able to add some funds in the next few weeks and if certain markets and shares continue to rise in value then there may well be some contenders for some pyramid trades.
