Three more positions added over the last couple of weeks.
First we have two exchange traded commodities - LM029 and LM030. As per usual they were added because the underlying commodity had made a new 40 day high in its price.
There may be "reasons" behind the move up in price of both of these but if there are then I remain oblivious. And I'm happy to be in the dark. All I know is that they have increased beyond a previous, admittedly short-term, high so there is some momentum.
By buying these ETCs I am basically making a bet that the upward momentum in price continues.
The third new position is a Mining share - LM031.
As you can see from the above table it had a nice 10% bump in one week. Whilst I will never complain about that I am now expecting it to fall back a little.
Bitcoin was up testing the all-time high levels last week but has fallen off a bit again. I hold a very small amount of Bitcoin which I purchased a few years ago. My initial purchase was £15 worth and as I write this it is worth £750.
On the one hand I wish I had bought more but on the other I know that if I had "invested" £200 or more, I likely would've sold it again after it doubled or tripled. It's very unlikely I would still be holding it. I'd also probably be cursing myself for selling "too early".
Buying a miniscule amount has worked out well. I feel no need to sell any at the moment as I don't need this cash and there is no fear of loss as it was only £15.
The only reason I bought was so I could figure out how the exchanges work and how to store it (cold storage wallets). Potentially I could end up a millionaire should Bitcoin rise exponentially... I just need it to go to around $25,000,000!
